hey all did a quick scan but i seem to have come up with error codes 13,14,15,16,17,19,21,22
kind of shit i guess . i have just had a service done where my coolant was flushed and my thermostat had been replaced and throttle body had been cleaned would error codes 14-17 & 19-22 be related to that service or have i actually got a problem with the tps
Code 13 is RH oxygen sensor no signal.Code 14 is coolant temp sensor voltage low.Code 15 is temp sensor voltage high.16 is temp sensor voltage unstable.Code 17 is ECU failure cooant sensor circuit.Code 19 is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) sticking open.Code 21 is TPS voltage high.Code 22 is TPS voltage low.If you disconnect the battery for a minute or two, this will clear the errors from the ECU, then go for a 15 - 20 minute drive and see if any of them return. If they do,check the wiring to these sensors and their connectors, and if it all looks ok ,then replace the sensors.

and if it does kick your mechanic up the ar*e and if it doesn't ask him what they check at servicing besides the usual, as this in built diagnostics makes fault finding fairly straight forward.
hmm i kind of hope the sensors arent dead the oxygen sensor isnt even 8months old , as for the voltage problems would i get a auto mechanic to rectify or will a mechanic be able to check it with a multimeter and just replace the sensors ,
The sensors can be checked with a multimeter or scantool and if they are faulty they will just replace them.Id clear the errors first and see if they come back after a 20 minute drive.
cheersmate ill give that a shot today
hey guys even after the computer is reset the error codes still pop up can a dodgy temperture sender sensor cause a oxy sensor to die ?
Temp sensor wont effect the oxygen sensor or cause it to fail.Try to use genuine holden oxygen sensors (try to go genuine when replacing any sensors for that matter) when replacing them. They have 12 months warranty and will last a lot longer than the cheaper ones.Ive seen a couple new cheaper aftermarket sensors cause problems.Id check the wiring and connectors, and if they are ok then replace the sensors that are giving the errors, they must be faulty if they have come back after you have cleared them.
What programme you scanning with? How does the car run?
if car runs well the good chance codes 13-22 are false depends on software and connection
thanks for the replys i bought one of the aldl cables online and use efi live V4
the car runs okay it uses abit of fuel more than it use too i run it on caltex 95 the tps i had a feeling my tb was playing up sometimes when i put my foot down it wont rev past 3k stuck tps or butterfly im guessing
Mate try flashing the errors up with the engine light and a paper clip in the ALDL connector and see if it shows the same errors.Ive had efilive tell me Ive had errors logged and sensors not working that were working. So double check it.If the TPS is playing up it can also effect the gearchanges in the auto's.
as brett said check the errors with the paperclip, if the errors are correct it nearlly sounds like the sensors are unplugged.
Also Efilive v4 doesn't report fault codes correctly with the stock VS xml, if you want to fix efilive i have manually updated the xml code for efilive for the vs model so it will work correctly and also contain the full fault descriptions and MIL indications for each fault, pm me if you want the updated file.
I did submit the file to efilive but they don't seem to interested in updating there site for V4 anymore.
i got 83 witch is a auto problem speech to a specialist but it seams to change in to every gear fine
will check with a papper clip tomorrow thanks for the responces guys
hey all checked error codes after clearing them they have all returned my code 13 error claims the sensor is faulty but with efi live it shows that its working not sure what i should do on this one
could a faulty temp sender cause problems with my aircon ?
Id believe the ECU's error checking system before I'd believe what efilive says.If the ECU is reporting there are errors logged, then its most likely going to be either the wiring, connectors or the sensor itself .And if the wiring and connections are all ok,then replace the sensors, they dont last forever, they wear out like everything else, and need replacing from time to time.
hey mate im using the free version i was going to buy a licence then checked out how much they cost what a rip so i didnt bother , the errors still show up with the paper clip test
havn't got my lappy on me atm but it's either in status flags or aldl tab, you will see o2 sensor crosscounts while driving around town you should have 2+ crosscounts from each o2 sensor. Code 13 would indicate that the sensor is dead and just sitting at one mv level and not moving, o2 sensors should continusly fluctutation between 0 and 1volt.
