Hi all. Im new to this and have found a lot of old posts quiet helpfull however i have failed to find an answer this problem. Ill run through the details of the car
Vs with a vt 5ltr, has vs bcm and vt computer with a memcal with no security feature. Had the car running and drove it for around ten minutes and it stalled. It had overheated (temp guage not working) now it has no injector pulse.
It has spark, fuel to the rails and injectors have power. I have changed the distributor, Injectors, and coolant temp sensor but still now injector pulse. also have an intermittent fuel pump issue where it heard turn on and sometimes it doesnt and if it does it wont turn off. any help would be appreciated as no mechanic i know has been able to come up with a solution
You might have to try another ECU to see if its causing the problem..
I have tried one but i will try another one now to make sure. ill let you know how it goes
ok tried that and still not working. still has a probelem comunicating with the fuel pump. have tried changing relays but that does not work and it seems to have a mind of its own.
the fuseabol link at the battery isnt on its way out is it. its a large red wire at the battery thats flexabol, ive had a few thats been verry suspect, no cars had issues but yours may be stuffed.
the other thing is it might have a short to voltage in the loume.
also no spark usully means dfi coil or dissy on the 8's also leads but there a given....
thanks. it has spark so its not the coil and the distributor is new (replaced when the problem occurred) ill check all the loom next but was kinda hoping it wasnt this as it could be a real headache. puzzling thing is it all worked untill it over heated
May be its the memcal.
I dont think you can change the ecu without a security link being made between the ecu and bcm.
I know this is true for the Vt V6 upward.
ignition module may still spark but wont send pulses to the ecu to make it trigger injectors
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
thanks all. figgured the problem out. came back to a problem with the distributor again. had a mechanic over and he fixed it all up. thanks for the help
