    Default Are vr and vs ignition barrels the same

    hi all need help my vr ignition barrels is stuffed is a vs the same as i only wont change the barrel as it comes with its own keys ??

    You will need the BCM (Body Control Module) out of the same car that the ignition keys come from as the ignition keys security code has to match the BCM security code or it wont let the engine start..Its all part of the immobiliser.You can just remove the plastic part of the key (fob) and then use your old plastic fob on the new key shank.

    Yes there the same, just remove the key blade from your new key and fit it to the old key head and you will be fine with the immobilizer side of things.

    Also a Calais key barrel can be used with other trim levels, e.g. exec, acclaim
