It may be your inability to punctuate?
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........

And Yes, it is a manual

sounds like you either need a new battery or a new regulator in the alternator, when the engine is running you need to use a volt meter to check the output from the alternator it should be around 14v with the engine running. If its around 12v or lower your alternator is at fault, if its around 14v when running you need a new battery.

You can buy new regulators for the alternator for around $50 they screw in to the back of the alternator, or if you know how to use a soldering iron you can buy new brushes for around $5 and solder them on to your existing reg.

Worn brushes in the Alternator Regulator. Easy five dollar fix if you have the tools and the brushes from an auto elec.

You will need to be able to competently use a small soldering iron.

The single wire that goes to the rear of the alternator can heat up which makes this wire corrode, this can make the battery light come on randomly.Have a good look at this wire and maybe give it a bend to check its not gone brittle.(theres a sticky thread about it at the top of the VR/VS page called "V6 owners check this out")

could be the regulator on my vn it had a crack in it and when u hit a bup my volt gauge would jump up to 18 volts so i would be checking that
