hi, i know and have cheacked codes come up with 12 then 16.
so my question is where is the coolant temp sensor /s? are they a easy fix?
went for a drive the other day and she got real hot....not in red tho,
( guessing air lock) as i unscrewwed breather at thermo housing and let it sit for a while.... then was all good.
temp gauge sits about 1/4 to 1/3
i just want to know if code 16 is worth worrying about,
i have searched about this and i would be here all day going through every post
thanks for ur help
There are two sensors,(actually ones a temp sensor and ones a temp sender),one is for the temperature gauge, the other is for the ECU.They are located above the water pump but recessed back a bit at the top of the engine, the passenger side one is for the ECU.The drivers side one is for the gauge. The temp gauge one will have one single wire going to it which slides on to the sender .The ECU one will have a connector plug and a couple of wires going to it.Id replace it if it were me,it will effect the economy and the general running of the vehicle if the ECU doesnt know the correct engine temperature.I have had trouble with a couple of aftermarket sensors,so if you can, try to use genuine holden sensors, as they wont cause you any problems like cheaper ones sometimes can. They come with 12 months warranty.
