Gday,
well last night my harmonic balacer shat itself on my 94 VR. didnt want to keep driving it so i had to go home and swap it for a reliable vehicle (honda CBR954)![]()
anyway just wondering, apart from a puller, are there any other special tools needed? yes ive got a torque wrench (to 90ft lbs) i know it wont be enough but i thought a bar on the end to get some extra leverage would do the trick. also is the compresion enough to keep the crank in place or can i put here in D to lock it in (first auto ive owned to so sorry if this sounds stupid)
any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers
dom

dosnt matter where the shfter is (park netural or in gear) as the converter will still allow the motor to turn. try having a quick search, there was a post not long ago about this
i would also be rplacing the cas while your there!
also you need the bolt to be done up to 200+Nm you may need to use a rattle gun or remove the starter motor and block off the fly wheel
u will prob need a rattle gun (thats the easy way) or a braker bar and a hammer when i done mine on my v6 i just left it in park and smacked the breaker bar with a big hammer from memory they are a left hand thread
thanks for the replies fellas, just saw the thread. think i might just get a rattle gun.
sorry for the rethread.![]()
