Vp trans into Vr

Just wnating to know if its possible to put a VP trans into my Vr,does anyone know about changing the wiring to suit.

pretty sure there the same trans just check on top of bell housing there should be a part no

vn - vp = th700 turbo hydraulic or 4l60
vr - current = 4l60e electronically controlled. also different numbers mean deferent computers etc

can be done but remember its an old box and needs a kick down cable

exactlly what moff said i got a vp 2 trans in mine stage 2 as long as its got the E on end otherwise from memory u need the kickback cable and the set up on the throttle body 4 the cable best thing to do find 4l60e easiest way

plus the computer would throw up fault codes on the dash

I know some of the last VP's had an electronic gearbox in them, these may connect straight up your best checking the model numbers written on them with an auto trans place and they could advise.

Thanks for feed back,box has all fittings for kick back ,just not to sure about wiring as it has only four wires coming out.

my vr i want to put a VQstatesman trans into in the wires on the vr trans wont plug into the VQ trans but will it still run and drive the same useing the kick down cable set up ??????????????
