hey just wanting to know if ne1 has an idea on what this noise could be?
it started off at only 60 that when you back off you could hear a slight scraping noise, sorta like a worn brake pad but is not.
now it started doing in rnd 80.
the cars a VR clubby wags, the diff has been recond, all the bushes in the back have been done plus an adjustable panhard bar. the brakes have also been done and rotors machined.
im thinking maybe wheel bearing.
any help would be great.
thanks

Could be a handbrake shoe dragging - to try and diagnose the problem I'd check both rear discs/drums for temperature - if the handbrake is dragging the drum part of the disc may be warmer....also a bearing that's on its way out will run warmer. You can buy infra red thermometers cheap which will detect small differences in temperature...very handy for tyres that are delaminating or have belt shift as well. Another possible is the handbrake cable vibrating.
