i have a 5l vs that has shat an ignition module..but while im changing that im gonna give a few things a bit of a revamp (fuel pump, leads, plugs, dizzy cap, O2 sensor, coil) so i dont break down somewhere strange again any time soon, i was wondering what is a good coil to swap the stock one with ( i dont even know what the stock one is)...
i am reading about the msd blaster ss?
i have seen things like bosch mec (medium efficeincy coil)
and the bosch hec (high efficiency)
i dont really want to spend more than $150 on the coil and would appreciate any info any one wants to share and part numbers if you know
thanks in advance
bosch is the original part on the back of the engine... have fun gettin it off, or gettin it back on lol....
Just go with the original stock ones from holden if you dont wan't to spend to much lol.
Just put in the standard Bosch HEC716 coil. Don't buy it from Holden - try Bursons or Supercheap. Should only cost $60-70.
i went to a peps and just asked for the standard 5L coil and they gave me the bosch MEC718.....
i would have rathered a HEC coil as i know from somewhere that they are high energy and the MEC are medium energy
