    Default VR running cold

Hi there, just have another few quick questions thanks.
My VR is running a bit cold, even on long journeys, would you advise i change the thermostat? Is a normal thermostat alright or should i go Hi-Flow. Also just checked the fluids and i couldn't see any in the radiator and the reserve was low. I just filled the reserve, will this drain through to the radiator, and will this suffice untill i have time to flush the thing?

    Thanks for all your help..

Just replace the thermostat with a standard one,you wont need a hi flow one,its probably also worth renewing the cap as well.

If the radiator was not full you should think about bleeding the cooling system. If you replace the thermostat you will need to bleed it anyway and it's a good time to flush and replace the coolant as well.
If the car is still running a bit cold check your temp gauge and sender unit, the sender unit may be out of calibration.
There's a lot of posts on these forums on how to bleed the cooling system.

You realise if you switched to a hi-flow or low temp thermostat it would still run cold? thermostats reach a certain temperature then open to let cold water in. When a thermostat gets stuck open, thats when an engine runs cold.. Just replace with a standard one.
