so i need advice from someone who knows wha they are on about...
i have a v6 buick with a T5 behind it, i have just picked up a series 2 v6 ecotec motor from a VX .
what i need to know is will my T5 bolt up to this motor? if not, is there a transfer case that will make it bolt up?
Also do i have to put a vs plennum on?
anything else i need to do?
cheers
Yes, it will bolt up. Not sure about the plenum though.
The series 2 changed the kind of gearbox setup it used, not the bellhousing or bolt patterns, the motors are essentially the same VS-VY. However, there may have been an auto and manual crank for the all of the ecotecs, I am not sure. These would have extra holes for dowels. Don't know if this is an issue, plenty of people have done the auto manual conversion with auto cranks without trouble.
When you say V6 Buick, do you mean the Ecotec or the 3800?
Should still work I had a VS exec s1 with an ecotec and a T5 in it and also a VS calais with a VT engine in it. The VT engine fitted straight into my brothers car to with no mods to the wiring needed
