I am trying to find out if I fit a VN long range fuel tank to a VS V6, can I run the one single internal fuel pump .The VN's with the long range tank fitted had two electric fuel pumps. One internal and one external. So I thought Id find out if anyone has done this and used just the single internal pump.Thanks.

Sorry to hijack, but when did they change from a two pump setup to one?
I would proberly look at converting the one in my VN to a single pump setup if there the same?

The VN's fitted with a long range fuel tank have an internal priming pump and the external pump is the high pressure pump. I've checked my VN factory manual and the internal priming pump is a fair bit shorter than the internal high pressure pump found on the normal petrol tanks in a VN and up to VS. I can't see why you can't modify the pickup if nessesary to take the longer high pressure internal pump and the pulsator etc.
From memory when I was getting a new tank for my VN the VS tanks have different breather connections, the VN has one big one and 2 small ones so you may have to block one up and also the fuel return goes onto a barbed fitting on the front of the tank and not the sender unit.
