It might be a long shot but check the wiring that goes to the fuel pump under the car at the rear near the fuel tank..You might have bumped it and partially broke a connection while replacing the filter.Try wiggling the wiring around as the car is cranked over. You should be able to hear the pump running. If you move the wire with the bad connection then the pump will stop and start. This wiring section gets knocked around a lot and battered as its exposed and under the rear of the car,it can get little breaks in the wiring etc,so have a good look at it.The fuel pump should run for 2 seconds then stop when the ignition key is turned to the on position. You should be able to hear it.
ive already cut the white dodge plug out and joined the wires up .. my last commodore the plug stuffed up .. i thort that was the problem.. so cleaned that up.. its starting fine now.. but i wanna solve the problem so its reliable.. cheers

it may just have been that there was air in the fuel line/filter after the replacement that took a bit to get through?
