Adivice on working 5ltr VS SLR500 commodore

Hi there guys and gals.
I currently own a Holden commodore VS SLR 5000 5ltr, its pretty much stock standered the only mods on it is SS Air induction and a 2 1/5 inch sports exhaust. Now i'm wanting to do some work to the engine which will get me some noticable gains without spending an absalute fortune $$$$$. what are some good mods i can do to the 5ltr to start me off? Im also after rough prices. Thanks everyone

You can't really get any noticable gains with the 5l unless you can spend the money. Little things like 11mm ignition leads and some decent plug's, K&N filter, decent oil can make a bit of a difference. I'd say first up some Pacemakers (or extrators) bout $1000 fitted, 3.9 diff gears (bout $400), and if you want to get some decent power get a cam and stall to suit, bout $2000, chip bout $1000 fitted. Also a ported heads and bigger trottle body also helps. Sound's like alot of money but start with the extrators and diff gears and go from there. Hope that helps.
