I got some quotes to install my scat kit and most of them are around $1600 for a short motor.

Then you could do the rest at home and you probly cant **** much up just putting the heads, manifold and other bolt on shit back on.

your looking at a days labour for just the build. add on coolent oil + filter than removal and refittment of the motor + 1/2 day depending on what a workshop charges (say $50 an hour $400 for 8 hours) its also best to ring a few places and get some quotes too i know my w/s charges 82 an hour (holden dealer) might get the labour down to 30 bucks an hour.
