The fuel filter should help, so put it on..Also go get an auto transmission filter kit and 5 lt of dexron 111 type fluid and change the transmission filter and fluid. The trans filter comes with a new pan gasket. You just have to remove the pan, clean the pan and pan magnet, then remove the old filter and its seal, install the new filter and its seal, then re install the trans pan,and fill it up to the proper level with fluid (recheck the fluid level once the transmission is at operating temperature). You should notice a difference if the transmission has not been serviced in a while.

I also noticed a big difference when I changed my 3 coil packs after one failed.I fitted a second hand one in the place where the failed one came from, and it was back to running normal again.A week later I replaced all 3 old coils with brand new genuine holden coils. It made a big difference to how the car started and ran,I could feel the difference in power, acceleration and smoothness. It also improved the fuel economy. These coils seem to loose their performance as they get old.The replacement coils do not have the cylinder numbers on them,so if your coils have the cylinder numbers marked on them, theres a big chance they are still the original coils fitted from new,and are probably not performing as good as they did when they were new.Keep any old working coils as spares as they will still get you out of trouble in an emergency if one ever stuffs up later on..Try to only use genuine holden coils, not cheap ones from ebay etc. Also MSD make a good coil for these engines too.I dont know how much they are though, but MSD is a well known respected brand,so they would perform as good, or maybe even better than the genuine holden ones.Phone around a few different dealers for prices,as some charge more than others.(You would think all holden dealers would all have the same prices on parts.)
