Vs bcm

I dont have much idea on these things so need some help
whats the difference between a low level and a high level BCM
also i have a 96 VS SERIES 2 EXEC auto can you fit any BCM from a VS in my car or only one specific one
can someone shed some light on this please

The low BCM controls the following-
Central door locking,(except series 1 utility),washer timer,theft deterrent system,courtesy lamp delay,automatic lamps off and if applicable, cruise control and power windows.
The high series has the low features plus the following, extra functions-
Variable wiper delay ,power aerial,speed sensitive power steering(calais,newport and statesman),instrument lamp dimmer,auto lamps off with delay,rear lamp failure warning and theft deterrent system.
If the BCM is changed for any reason,you will need the ignition key head from the same vehicle, or otherwise you will need the VIN number from the vehicle the new BCM came from to be able to get a matching key head(or fob) from holden, as the BCM security code has to match the ignition key security code,otherwise the car wont start.(immobiliser).Also you usually need to fit the same level BCM if its replaced for any reason.

Also Low an Mid BCMs have two plugs and Hi and Lux BCMs have four plugs.

thanx for that i just got one from a mate but not sure if it wil work they both are low bcm but have a different number
