the ones i have done have been a new steering lock as there is nothing i can find to keep it down. you might try ( i have not tried) removing the lock off the colium (the bolt may need to be drilled or cut off some how) and setting it up that way, falling that you will need a new ignition lock, you have the barrell
cheers, dads in adelaide atm, coming back tomorrow with my new Transmission, might see if he can get a Ignition lock too then,,, hes going to Just commodores spares... so im gathering they should have some lol

Never had a problem with the steering lock, how did you get the old barrel out? If you remove it with the key 'on' like you are supposed to, the steering lock pin stays down.
id say the ignition lock is stuffed..... just contacted the previous owner and hes the one who took the old barrel out, he used so multigrips and yanked it out apparently, so yeah i think shes stuffed
