I have a problem with my power windows (none work and the drivers window is stuck down) and I'm dead broke so I just want to remove the mechanism in the driver door and prop the glass up manually. Had some things nicked out of the car last night so i'm motivated to finally be able to lock it up again.
So i'm removing everything but the glass from inside the door and i've come across these two wires going into what i guess is the regulator. I see no way to pull them out intact so i need to know if it's ok to just cut them, tape up the ends and then leave the wires in there. I know nothing about this stuff sorry.
Here are a couple pictures, from an entirely different car, of the thing that the wires are going into. thanks!

There will be a 2 pin plug that will disconnect the motor from the wiring in the door....if none of the large pop rivets holding the mechanism to the inner frame of the door are not sheared off ..... try putting 12v from a battery direct to the two lugs in the plug and see if the window moves...if it does but the wrong way swap the wires around if nothing happens the motor is broken/jamed.

Just my two cents ... but have you checked your power window fuse? You might just have a blown fuse if none of your power windows are working.
markovr thanks mate after a few minutes ****ing with it i did manage to pull out the plug, stupid me assumed it was a solid unit when it didn't easilly pull apart.
