vs cold air intake

im getting my lukeys performance headers put in at the exhaust shop i asked the bloke to put in an ss
induction aswell he quoted 400 dollars for the ss induction alone so i said no way. i went down to holden and bought a cold air intake kit from them for 128 dollars. just wanted to know whats the actual difference between the 2?
and should i change the standered filter that came with the kit to a k&n one ?

standard v6 not worth changing from the paper filter

The holden intake is pretty similar to the ss one, not worth the coin over the super 6 holden one, i think the ss one has slightly thicker plastic to keep the heat out of the intake, i just went to bunnings or refrigeration guys and got the thick silver aluminium alfoil tape that refrigeration guys use and put it underneath to stop the heat from the radiator.
