    Default 5lt oil pressure problems

ok i just bought a vr statesman 5lt
    has low oil pressure
the mechanic replaced the oil pump with a second hand "good" one didnt work said it is the oil pickup
so what im thinking is to buy a brand new oil pump and a new oil pick up as i have herd the sometimes crack and get blocked with "sludge"
anyways im thinking when i lift the engine to put the new oil pick up on and stuff im wonderin g if i should take the manifold of aswell and clean it off and put new lifters in and just try clean the oil system all out to make sure its not goin to block up again sorta thing
ok just wondering whats the best way to clean the oil sludge of and outa my motor?????

i dunno what the pressure is to be exact but the hyd lifters are just tapping like hell so there isnt any pressure i suppose?
the mecanic tested the pressure and said it was the pump but that was no good

Mine idles at 10 PSI, 40-45PSI at 1750 revs when fully warmed up.

On a cold start it easily gets to 70PSI.

Make sure the "tapping" isnt just the injectors pulsing, they're pretty noisy. The 5.0L isnt a quiet engine. at all.

nah its not the injectors i thought that but its deff the lifters way to loud to be them i dont start the engine at all since the problem started and really dont wan2 cause more problems with it by running it with no oil :S

the machanic said the next step is for him to rip the engine out and fix the oil pick up as it must be blocked but if its not could be guides but yeh thats a bit of money to throw around after doin the oil pump and that didnt fix it so im goin to give it a shot myself i think

ide be fitting a gauge and checking pressure if its at or around 10psi when hot ide be looking at stuffed lifters or worn out cam lobe if its low on pressure ide say rebuild it most likely worn bearings etc
