Default Changed fuel filter, car wont go!

Today,I changed the fuel filter on my VS,started the engine, checked for leaks,no worries! But then ,15 minutes later I come out to drive the rotten thing and ,tried to start it,and it just sounded like it was running out of petrol, but now it wont go at all!Does anyone have any clues as to what could be the Problem? And yes,the flow direction is going the right way.

only thing i could think of is the filter being on the wrong way but you believe you have done it the right way (arrow pointing to the front). have you looked underneath to make sure you havnt kinked the hoses somehow? there isnt much you can get wrong when changing the filter so its hard to say.

You could have faulty/bad fuel pump wiring, and maybe you have bumped these wires when changing the petrol filter.Ive seen problems with the wiring that runs to the fuel pump as where it is positioned under the car, its exposed to dust and grit etc, and it gets knocked around, especially if the car has been driven on gravel roads a lot,so check the wiring going to the fuel pump at the front of the fuel tank, near where you changed the filter.Cheers

My brother changed his fuel filter in his VL once and then couldn't get it running for 3 months until I found out the clamps holding the fuel filter hoses in were loose and with the pressure they caused it to leak bad enough to not send it into the engine.

Can you hear the fuel pump when you turn it on? I had a similar prob with my vx when I ran out of fuel, pumped in 10 litres and it still wouldn't go, needed another 10 litres for it to work, maybe you have some kind of weird sensor like that in it.

your going to need to replace your fuel pump soon then banging the tank is the old trick of getting a fuel pump thats on its last legs going again, eventually it wont start again.

yep!Your right on the money there mate!I just went to start it again, and nothing, not even a tap on the fuel tank would fix it.How hard is it to install a fuel pump, and how much should i pay?

get someone to bang the tank whilst you are cranking it over that might get it going again, New pump is around $100 and pretty easy to fit your self.
