Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows what would cause the problem i am having with my vr v8 commodore.
The other day after driving home i could not restart the bloody thing. everything turns over but it wont start. I then checked to see if the fuel pump was priming. It would make a gurgling sound as if it had run out of fuel? fuel gauge reads halfway.
The next day I checked it and it started fine. drove it around. stopped. restarted. everything fine.
Then the following day I drove up to the road and when i tried to restart it it did the same thing! (fuel pump gurgles)
I thought that maybe my fuel gauge was faulty but i have eliminated that possibility by filling up the tank. (It only needed anouther 30 liters)
Anyone heard of this problem before. Or any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I now have two more symptoms of the problem...
Got the car started yesterday and took it for a drive. It started fine but it was really slow and sluggish.
Then when I parked it and came back an hour later it would not start. Same problem. Turn on the ignition, fuel pump primes and then I can hear a gurgle from the fuel tank.
It seems as though the car will start when it is cold. but will not once it has warmed up!?
Going to replace the fuel filter today to see if that helps.
