the idiot light ie the check engine light will only come on when there is a sensor foulting or there is a defective componit with the car ie. crank angle sensor pops to mind. it will not show you anything mechanical like compression and fuel flow issues and stuff like that

its easy to do just jump terminals 5 and 6 and count the engine light flashes. doing so should save manny hours and lots of dollars in dignostics

ah ok i will remember that, i think i we may have figger out my ! cicle bracket light issue

"just not mechanical", what do you breaks feel like,

went to my mate who is a mechanic and it turned out the break fluid was low, and when i topped it up, a little valve had shut so i could not loose any more break fluid. they have to be bleed so it resets th issue
