Hey,
I was given a VS Commodore by a family friend the other day. One of the nicest ones I've seen in a long time. The old owner was a well known mechanic so I'm pretty sure I've hit the jackpot here. However when it was parked beside my friends VR it was noticeably higher than his. When I called the old owner he told me that it had a country pack installed. Im planning to get this thing lowered but I'm unsure how the country pack is going to affect it??? My experience with newer model commodores is limited my other two normal when I bought them except the VL Walkinshaw Clone which was lowered already...so Im going to have to ask where to start with this new car. So how will the country pack affect it and how low should I go so it is obvious that it has been lowered?
Cheers
Tyler
yea as above the springs are shorter so the car will sit the same hight as any other lowered vs commy
Won't matter if your lowering it.
Do the cars fitted country suspension have slightly longer rear lower control arms?
I know there are three different lengths available to correct driveline angles and I believe the longest is fittted to the country pack.
I'm wondering if lowering a country pack car would cause a the tail shaft to go out of alignment?
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
You have a solid rear axle right?
If you need shorter arms these should be easy to get from a wrecker or even new from Holden? You may also need a new panhard rod of a different length?
I'd ring around a few suspension places but before you fork out for their products price new genuine. Are the sway bars on a country pack the same diameter? If they are a larger diameter on the front and you go stiffer springs you may cause some issues. I recal stiffer springs have a smaller dialeter sway bar (FE2 is smaller in diamete than standard).
anny pics of it next to a normal vs
