vr gearbox shot

hey guys hows it going

my VR siries2 calais is in need of a new gearbox. its only a 6cylener. so was wondering what my best option 4 a new one is. i could get a ecotec one easy, but is it going to fit no worrys? i get told difrent answers.
also if not.... then will just a vn/vp/vr box of any sort fit up fairly simple. what will and what wont? also how much wireing difrences are there

best thing to do is to get a box with the same numbers as the one you have, 4hdd 5hdd etc. vr series 2 can ither have a 4hhd or a 5hdd diffrenced are the plugs with an extra wire in the 5hdd for the pulse with modulated converter lock up.

the sticker is on the passangers side up the top of the bell housing. easly seen from the top. i would just get a second hand auto with the same numbers, or if you can afford it get a reco

vn- vp boxes fit but there old and possibly no better than the one you have anf not as smooth, also requires a kick doen cable and wiring modificatons
