Default Converting Vr level1 dash to level 3 question.

My question is, I have a level 1 dash and want to upgrade it to the level 3 dash.
I have read that I need some extra stuff like trip control switches etc, which I also have,
I can get the whole loom if I want it but just wondering if this is the way to go or is there anything else I should be aware of when installing it? is it just the small loom from the trip computer switches on the dash going to socket number 4 on the cluster all that I need or do I need the lot?
    Any help much appreciated.

The 4th plug and trip control plug are cut from the l3 loom. All the wires from those 2 plugs need to be spliced into your L2 dash loom.

The thread to look at is "tripin".

    Cheers 88GreenVN,
Just wondering tho, how much hasel would it be to just replace the whole loom from the donor car to mine?
Would this be a better option in regards to trying to maintain some sort of originality without having to cut and join wires etc?
Or will I have to cut wires any way cos mine is a level 1 dash loom? and is this an easier thing to do?
Im Ok with pulling all apart, its the joining all the wires that worries me

The L3 loom has 2 problems for you. 1. the A/C is climate in the L3 cars. So the A/C wont work - The rear demister wont work either. The lights are wired differently and need a fair bit of work to get going.

If you get a L3 loom, wind the black tape off and cut the 2 plugs where all the wires connect - you will have what you need to make the L3 work. You connect to the same colour wire to your matching dash wire colour. Takes a few hours to do - including double checking every thing.

Ok, I was just wondering about the A/C and you answered that one for me, I dont wont to go down that path, to much for me!
I can get both the plugs tomorrow so thats no probs, when you say connect the wires to my existing loom , where do I start?
My dash loom is only a level one so doesnt have the speed alert plug or anything, I know once I get started I will be fine, but just dont
know where to start joining etc, do both plugs get joined to the loom seperatley?
Sorry for all the questions just want to make sure Im going about it correct.
Or.........should I just go for the level 2 dash which I also have ....OMG I can feel this getting out of control soon electric windows etc etc lol
