Default Will a level 3 dash be able to work on a level 1 loom?

Question, will a level 3 dash connect to a level 1 loom? or will only a level 2 fit it
as I dont have the extra wires as the level 2 does, ie speed alert wires etc.

If you just want to upgrade to the level two cluster to have a tacho then it will plug and play with the level 1 loom no worries. As above, if you want to fit the level three cluster the loom will have to be customised as you'll need an extra plug grafted into the loom and the plug for the hvac unit is different compared to the level 3 loom as it has climate control. 88greenvn on this forum makes them and I can certainly recommend him. Hope that helps.

A level one loom can be used, all you need to do is cut and tee-join a few wires. The two extra plugs you need should come with the cluster - or if you are taking it from the donor car yourself, cut your tails as long as you can.
The headlight switch in the level 3 dash surround wont work properly with your low bcm, but its exactly the same size and shape as the one from your old surround, so you can swap them. Also the rear demister switch wont connect to level 1 loom, you will need to use the one you already have

I did it this weekend. pretty cool mod.

Hi Andrew426, thanks for the info about the light switch, I was wondering why the light adjuster wasnt working properly, now I can just swap it over
Everyone one here has been really helpfull, I was able to install the level 3 dash today using a diagram that has been posted on here by Greenvn88, very helpfull.
The only thing I cant get to work is the speedo I have a yellow with black strip wire left out, so mabey that goes somewhere? Thinking of useing the demister
    for something else.
Again thanks everyone for your help

The speedo is the purple white wire - check that one first. The yellow black wire supplies the trip computer with instant fuel read out. It goes to slot A2 on the engine harness plug.

Hey 88GreenVN, do you have a diagram or something showing where the yellow black wire goes? also what and where should I be looking at with the purple white wire?

Connector 2 Number 2 purple white wire from the 4th plug. Check that for continuity.

The engine loom plug is white/clear colour and has the 2 top corners clipped. It's located under the glove box - take your air vent off and the glove box out. It will be easier to see then. It's the only empty slot in the plug and will have a yellow black wire out the other side. It's the only yellow black

Thanks for that, I found some plugs that arnt connected to anything, near the ECU, not sure what they are for, the ute has been converted from column auto to
5 sp manual, maybe that has something to do with it? will check it out in the morning.
    Thanks 88GreenVN.

    Thanks 88GreenVN.

If you unbplug the engine loom the car will not start. Easy way to check - and it's the only yellow black wire around as far as I know.
