Default Not sure where this should go?

I am looking at upgrading my vs brakes to the vt brakes.
So, will vt brakes fit and suit the vs?

    Thanks.

A lot of work for an average result. Go the VE upgrade as seen here Press Releases I do them for $725. 322mm or 298mm rotors. No need to change the master cylinder or booster, comes with absolutely everything you need.

Rang RDA Australia who advised there's no need to change to a different brake master cyclinder when going VT brakes and also advised it's a waste of money spending the extra going to VE brakes unless your car has serious horse power, You can find the complete kit including shims for around 400 if you look around. The other thing is that with the VE brake upgrade you may even need to run a minimum rim diameter of approx. 16 or 17 inches from memory. Not trying to take buisness from you in any way just trying to help out a fellow member.

i must say that the VE brake upgrade is very good and pretty simple, a good mate and fellow member did the the upgrade and i helped him install it.

    Interesting.
The VS is fitted with a 7/8" bore master and the VT has a 1" bore master.
When we fitted VT calipers to my mates VS it had a low spongy pedal (absolutely no air in system) so we fitted a VT master and now the pedal is perfect.
When I did mine, I fitted the VT master a few weeks before fitting the calipers just to see how it felt. No real increase in stopping power (as you would expect) but the pedal was much firmer and reacted faster due to the larger volume of fluid being moved.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Theres been a few people write in on here saying they have had a low spongy brake pedal after fitting VT calipers to their VS,and the only fix was fitting a VT master cylinder..

RDA do the VE upgrade too, so who ever you spoke to doesn't want to sell any products.

On a side note, there are a lot of people who upgrade different areas of their cars when they don't need to. The extra performance or safety of the upgrade is worth the money spent in their opinion. Personally I wouldn't do some of the things some others do, but it's all personal choice. For the record, I have the same pattern slotted rotors and RDX performance pads in our Senator and it definitley stops better. VT II with LS1.

id consider performing the ve brake upgrade on my car despite my car being stock. i really dont rate the brakes on a vs and have very little confidence in them. i think this would be a worthwhile upgrade just for safety as you will be able to brake that bit better

I find that with my standard VS brakes (non ABS) that they work good up until around 80 km/h.Anything above that and they are hopeless.Ive owned cars with rear drums that stopped better at these speeds.
