This has just started to happen - very hard to describe this strange noise which sounds like it's coming from under the front passenger seat.
Only happens when the car is moving.
It happens every time I press the brake pedal, unless I press it very very slowly.
It's a sort of metallic click followed by sort of hiss/rattle - lasts no more than 1 second - not a big noise - only thing I can compare it with the is sound you'd get from a coiled spring sliding down a rod and hitting the end.
Brakes are working just fine though. But this noise is driving me crazy!
Can't see anything underneath that could be causing it![]()
Id be removing the wheels and having a good look at the calipers, pads and disks, maybe even remove the pads while you are there to check them out properly.
As crazy as it sounds it turned out to be the spare ciggy lighter sitting on a paperclip stored in the centre console!!!
No wonder there was no noise when the car wasn''t moving.
