getrag box 5speed manual-quote 2 much?????

Getrag conversion including what's left of the clutch assembly, tailshaft, wiring and ECu, trans mounting and flywheel etc all for $2150.00 includingGST, i got quoted that much , is that 2 much? sounds 2 expensive to me, someone said i could most likely get the parts for 1000bucks.
anyone got any good suggestions where to go or atleast ring up about a gearbox? thanks

Depends alot on the condition of the items .I blew a clutch and flywheel on my vs ute years ago and the clutch n flywheel cost around 2g to replace. Had to replace my flywheel as that type of flywheel has internal springs (instead of the clutchplate) which had to much freeplay from the thrashing i gave it. I also heard that it is not a good idear to machine these flywheels .Just as a warning I am a mechanical engineer and have have machined hundreds of flywheels but not one of those.Could be costly.Apart from that a great gearbox if all is in good order i would say its cheap.

Sounds cheap depending on condition.Years ago i blew up my clutch and flywheel in my vs ute from neglect cost me around 2g just for parts . Are you planning on fitting these parts or is that fitted.

yeah im gonna fit it myself , it comes with a 6month warranty aswell, im just gonna hunt around see whats around , thanks though
