    Question vs v6 alloy rocker covers

    hey all on my engine i have factory alloy rocker covers and never seen them before, does anyone know what v6 may of had them? for example supercharged v6?

    they look genuine with the lines along them it has rooler rockers maybe they are slightly higher

    They are S1 VN rocker covers. If you are running older style yella terra rockers (see pic) you need an extra 15mm or so clearance, So a lot of guys will get alloy ones off a S1VN and weld a strip of alu in.

    cheers mate they looked to factory be be aftermarket, ive seen quite a few vn s1's but they have all been plastic so they must have been raided already. thanks for your help

    Nah mate they come from the factory painted, so they look exactly the same as the plastic ones. You wouldnt tell they were alu just by looking at them. Im thinking of putting a set on my VR. When I put my roller rockers on I couldnt get any alu ones so I had to cast some spacers out of lead to put under my plastic ones.

    thats 1 way to get it to work mate good idea. I thought they were plastic but i was working on my car and droped a spanner and it sounded funny so i tapped it and yeah they are alloy. the paint is coming off here and there and im due for a new gasket or 2 so ill take em off strip the paint off and polish em to match my top plenum cover. got to look better than the engine cover they make these engines look weak and crap
