where is the temp sender???

hi all just wondering if anyone can tell me where the temp sender is on the vr 3.8 motor??

on the front of the inlet manifold

If it's the coolant temps sensor your trying to find it's located under the alternator. There is two sensors. One with many wires and one with only the one. The one with many wires is the coolant temp sensor the other goes to the gauge in your dash.

so the 1 with 1 wire is the 1 that does the dash? im putting in a new temp tacho so i get a more acuret reading

yes the single 1 wire is the temp sender for the dash gauge. If your using the same sensor/sender to read the coolant temp how is your new gauge going to tell you a more accurate reading? is it digital or something..??

The other sensor next to it is the temp sensor that sends info to the ecu, dont mess with that one

nah its a spec gauge but it has the degress on it where the dash just has a needl going from hot to cold. iv got the motor in a hilux 4x4
