    Default VR-VS V6 Starter Motors

Can anyone confirm if a Bosch V6 Starter out of an Auto VS will fit an Auto V6 VR
I have read other posts and there seems a to be a lot of conflicting answers

90% of the Commodore starter motor adverts on Ebay, and there are dozens of them, say they fit any Buick/Ecotec motor except early ones so I'd say yes.
I also see it only costs $110 for a brand new reduction gear starter on Ebay.

That's probably because you asked for someone to confirm a question that only someone with considerable knowledge of Commodore starters would know. I'm not one of those people so I just used Ebay to tell me. The cheap Chinese starters have a 12mths guarantee and the sellers have good feedback.....not a lot of wreckers give 12mths guarantee!

i think my starter is on its way out. When its begins to crank over and starts to fire a chirping grinding noise comes from the left side of engine, very loud also, Replaced water pump but was not the problem. We think its not disengaging For 3 to 6 seconds while the engine starts to run. Once engine is running no sounds or problems, Just did the oil, filters and new coolant.
Did water pump as it was making a little noise every rotation, all fixed with the new one.

Also Is it ok to replace yourself if that is the problem?
