Default VS commy high fuel consumption?

    Hey guys,

I got 1997 series 2 Vs Esteem. It has both LPG and petrol and just 2 days ago had trans rebuilt and engine and trans mounts changed. Drives so smooth now (doesn't sound likes it's on when stationary lol). However, a couple days before this work my fuel per 100 litres on my dash sits constant about 17.2 which I think is a bit High. It used to be about 13-14. Any ideas what it could be?

    Thanks in advance

first thing everyone will say is 02 sensors , then leads, plugs , coils .... then i dont know what but as far as i know the few i mentioned can be the main causes.

if not O2 sensors, or plugs or leads. air/flow meter, up the shit, the gas backfiring detroys the sensors in the meter, this will cause to run shit on heavy acceleration and can cause high fuel consumption. this happened to mine before i changed the air/flow meter over, went a shit load better an harder

    Unhappy RE: vs fuel consumption

    Hi bazzii1388.
    Hi everyone in the forum.
I am a new member and welcome everybodys feedback.

Bazzii, before you had the tranni replaced did you still have overdrive and now the Quest... is are you sure you have overdrive now after its been rebuilt, ( IE: 4th gear).
If you dont, my answer will be, get the auto solenoide checked.

I have a 97 VS S2 and am about to install a rebuilt tranni, and this is after loosing overdrive, 1st gear, and on the occasion reverse, nuetral, & park.
If you have a vacuum leek you can not miss the hissing sound.
I will keep the updates happening on my new tranni.
BUT gotta tell you driving around with only 2nd & 3rd gears., well the fuel econ.... up s**t creek.

it turns out that the gas needed to be retuned and serviced. got that done and the car is real responsive and drives so much better and economy is a lot better
