Yeah they were a bit costly and he knew i was unsure so im glad he was honest and said its not necescarry
Could someone explain in detail how they actually work? still bit lost on that thx
how the cat works or the high flow bit. high flow is just bigger pipes. bigger internals of the cat etc etc
all cats work the same 2 way or 3 way best to google how a catalitic conver works or i could be here for hours
edit: i lie some cats work diffrently, newer cats do diffrent things, bacicly the cats in vn - vp - vr - vs 6's or 8's bacicly hold co2 and when oxygen hits it it gets converted to h20 from memory (ive had a few beers tonight)

not unless you have some serious power or a turbo the cat on your v6 is the same as a v8 so they flow enough for a 5.0L.
holden went twin cats for the supercharged v6 statesmans (not sure about the rest of the line) and there incorpurated in the engine pipes

I'd say there'd be a slight gain with a hi flow, as the inlet and outlet of the stock cat is 2 1/4". So in effect it's like having a 2 1/4" catback![]()
i put a 2.5 " hi-flow cat on my old VN and it made a noticable difference in performance and exaust note/rumble. and when you can get them on ebay for around 185 (what i paid for mine) and they take 5 minutes to fit it is money well spent.
VN Calais With All The Factory Fruit I Need!
i just bought a 2.5cat back system today...waiting on a phone call to go pick it up ...its cost 280bucks (not fitted) does that sound fair price?cant wait to get it on and see what it sounds like
i paid bout $340 for mine i think (fitted)
sounds preety fair then, i need to get my back peice welded now, i seriously didnt think anything of it until i put it all togeather, would it be best to take it out and weld it out of the car?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,worked out a better idea bugger the welder lol

unless u have access to a hoist i guess then yeah probably take it out weld then put back in
most exhausts are just clamped together, makes it easer
