    Default engine detailing 3.8L Buick

There is the engine to my project car, as i am currently doing the rest, i figure why not tackle the motor.

I have never 'detailed' an engine before so i dont know where to start, any suggestions?

Start by giving the engine bay a good degrease and steam clean, then check and replace any lose or damaged fittings, covers, hoses etc. Then get some autosol (or similar polish) and polish up the smooth surfaces on your plenum and fuel rails. That should be a good start for ya, did you have anything else in mind?

Pod filter already Ditched!! was the very first thing to be removed, what else should i be looking at? engine is generally pretty clean, however there is a fair bit of grease and gunk underneath, i intend to ramp it up and get under there with a high pressure washer.

should i pull the top half apart and give it a good work over or just leave it? If you have done anything to your engine bay and pics would be appreciated

You can get rid of your coolant overflow aswell to neaten up the engine bay, also relocate the battery to the boot.

With the overflow you can buy a vertical one that sits beside the radiator, looks good i think it comes chromed?

After a degrease and a high pressure clean i pulled the inlet etc out as well as the battery, fuse box, etc and cut and polished where they were, i haven't polished any metal yet though. I took the headlights out and polished the radiator support panel.
