Exclamation VR V6 93' Commodore ABS Pump/Power Steering Fluid leak etc'

When the car is off the ABS pump makes a constant 'buzzing' sound, removed a fuse which stopped the noise. Is it safe to drive (just means i don't have ABS Braking?)
Power Steering Fluid leaking.. top ups required daily!
Radiator overheats as fan does not come on automatically anymore.
Have to run Air Con to keep fan going to save radiator.
Air Con no longer works - not cold and buttons 1-2 don't work at all.
Rear automatic window no longer works.

Is this worth fixing ??? Or should i cut my losses?

If the ABS system is disconnected or just not working, the braking system reverts back to a normal system. So it should be ok to drive still.Id still get it fixed though,I think the car is classed as not being roadworthy if the ABS is fitted but not working. The 1 and 2 heater fan speeds not working is most likely because of the heater motor resistors. This is located under a cover on the left side of the plenum, under the black plastic leaf guard thats under the windscreen wipers.Just unplug and replace the old heater resister with a new one and the fan should work on all speeds again. The AC most likely needs regassing.Ive regassed mine twice in 6 years. They sometimes need a regas as some systems can have tiny slow leaks.I get about 3 years out of a regas before it starts blow air thats not as cool as it normally should be.If the system gets really low on gas,the compressor wont even come on.

The heater fan resistors are located under the black plastic cover where the windscreen wiper pivots are just below the windscreen. You just need to remove the wiper arms from the pivots, then remove the large plastic nuts from the wiper pivots, then gently unclip the black plastic cover from the bottom of the windscreen, get someone else at the other side to help remove it,and after a little bit of mucking around it will come out.Once this plastic cover is removed, you will see a small hump near the centre of the bottom of the windscreen ,but slightly towards the passenger side a bit,the hump is actually the resistor cover, theres two screws that hold it on.Remove them, then remove the cover, then remove the screws holding the resistor in place, then unplug and remove it.You will probably notice theres broken resistor wires between the terminals inside the resistor.Ive soldered these broken resistor wires back together,it worked excellent for a couple of months, then it failed again,so I just replaced it with another good one from the wreckers.Apparently theres updated resistor blocks available for them now that dont blow as easily and last a lot longer..

My opinion only but I'd get rid of the car - to fix just the faults listed would cost well over $1000 and then you add all the new faults that will pop up. For $2000 or thereabouts you can buy a newer VS with working aircon and with a roadworthy, so if it was me I'd cut my losses. Take the old one to the wreckers where you may get $200 - it's cruel out there for cars nowdays!
