Hey everyone i have a seris 2 vs 5ltr statesman and it wont start..
Died on me the other night driving home from the city.. i have spark and fuel but wont fire up
i've changed coil,rotor button,dizzy cap, fuel preasure reg and latest ignitor box... it still wont start.....
what could it be????????
i have people telling me this that and i have done them parts and still no go...
im lost where i should be looking next..
any help would be great

Its an Auto.. And yeah first thing i did was put an diognostic scanner on to see if any faults come up..
could it possibly be the computer or would that come up on the scanner? The way it happen was wierd i was driving and it started coughing and splattering and then died and hasn't run since.. i have checked to make sure that the dizzy moves and had the filler cap off to make sure that the rockers are moving and what i can see they are..
What does the computer control?

It could be the hall effect sensor in the base of the dizzy, Unless time is on your side i would suggest swapping the dizzy for that one. Are your injectors firing???, your key maybe fugged and the imobiliser maybe on......Does the red light in the center console stop flashing when you put the key in and turn + contact around the ignition barrel.
Hey Mate yeah i have injector pulse, the night it broke down i did wash the engine bay down so not sure if that has somthing to do with it.. Um i know a few people at holden and they are even lost on where to look... is there any way to check the computer????
Unplug every connector you can see and blow them out, washing engines is a no no, not only it creates corrosion but it leaves you high and dry when you need it most

try your battry it could just been runnin flat in-need off a charge.. tip a hot water over the positive negative could be coverd acid wont start up... or a lite from the inside could be draining your battries power that hapend too me.. It'd work for a while an then drain my batries power after a full charge an shutt off as i drove.. good luck hope you gett it running soon![]()
Was going to say to charge the battery, maybe your alternator/regulator is on its way out, and your battery only has enough charge for pulse etc.
uh it's a new battery..lol
I bought a big one 600cca battery for it..
does it have a alarm and ammobaliser i had a problem like this and it was to do with the alarm

It's got the standard immobiliser fitted to it..
could it be possible the Memcal could fail and cause it not to run?
try your fuel pump
Could it possibly be the battery terminals (not sure if you replaced them with battery). Had these bugger up my old stato.
you say you have fuel? how was this tested? you might have fuel at the rail but do you have enough pressure, also spark, was it a nice bright blue spark, or a weak dull yellow spark, i know you said you replaced the ignition system, was this from a know good car or from new parts?

I put a new fuel preasure reg in also...
the only other thing i can think of is the base of the dissy might be full of water. or a wire somewere is corroded, the fuseabol link on the battery might be shot!

hey Mate well the Dizzy wheel inside the dizzy was rusty, i cleaned it up with memory paper but i think im gunna pull it out again and get it sent to a dizzy place and get it tested..
