hi all my vr v6 s1 has started to play up! when i put my foot dwn it cuts out when it hits just ova 3000rpm i back my foot off a bit it wont go any higher then 1500rpm i take my foot right off and its back to normal, car is on gas, doing it last 2days orso,, only owned it 6weeks its realy starting to pis me off would be very glad if any1 can help, cheers all
It might be a blocked catalytic converter on the exhaust system,also try changing the fuel filter.It might be blocked up .
Is it doing it when running on gas or petrol?
My vp was doing the same thing it was my cas
i have changed the cat converter, car does it on petrol and gas, worse on petrol tho, its driving me nuts, any1 have any ideas where i should be looking?? on gas it doesnt always doit, also when in park on petrol, i put foot down to rev it and sounds like its missing, could it be tps unit or coil pack?
i have changed the coil pack, throttle body, map senser still the same will be changing the ecu 2day,,,
dfi moduel possibley, blocked exhaust, dead cylender.

well it wasnt the ecu, also a couple of times when car has cut out it has lost all gears,when i put foot down, i turn car off and restart and gears are fine! ??? so now i have a ecu 4sale!
if i accelerate slowly the car will rev over 3000rpm (ongas) not on petrol tho, as said with it losing gears when the car does miss and cut out it will still run(not stall) but engine will not rev atall more like idles, losing gears say when im sitting on 60ks i put foot down it as soon as it goes to drop back a gear it, it has the miss, then loses gears until i turn ENGINE OFF then restart and the gears are back, any1 no any person able to give me a diagnostic in adelaide somewhere close to post code 5087? at a good price frees even better,
Have you replaced the simple things, like spark plugs and leads would be number 1 to check. Then maybe take the throtle body of and give it a good clean and check its condition also, and make sure there are no air leaks or vacume hoses dis-conected, i`d also be checking injectors are pluged in proparly and while we are at it, what condition are the injectors in? Hard to narrow it down when it is doing it on both fuels, but maybe the lpg is in need of a tune up also.
i think the lpg may need tune also, but atm its running better on lpg then fuel, brand new plugs, have replaced throttle body, there are no disconectd hoses etc , how do u check the condition of the injectors?
The only way really to check the injectors, is to get them flow and leak tested at a workshop who has a flow testing machine. Unfortunately people can charge to do this and for about the same costs you can purchase a set of reconditioned injectors. My vr had a miss a little while back, and i changed everything basically besides injectors, i had bad fuel economy also, so i purchased a set of reco`s and that fixed my problem. Sometimes its trial and error unfortunately!! Also it is important to make sure you have power or pulse at every connection at every injector.
shouldnt the problems be shown with these error codes 34 and 45 wich i got??? be 1s i fix??
maybe someone else will understand those error codes, i don`t know much about that, sorry.
34 manifold absolute pressure sensor or circuit problem
45 rich exhaust
Id try another MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.If this sensor is not working properly or is buggered,it can cause the engine to run rich,which could be why you have also got an error code 45,rich exhaust.
i have tryed another map senser off my brothers vp( are they the same?) is the map senser bolted to a bracket on the firewall? 1 wire plug, and 1 vaccum hose??? and a big thanks to all u guys replying hopefully i can get this sorted
is it possible the trans is ***t and sender wrong msgs to ecu? how does this issue make me lose gears? i turn car off and back on agen gears are back????
did you replace the tps with the throttle body? or did it come with one? its the sensor on the throttle body that acts on the buttifly. also try a coolent temp sensor. does the gauge run cold or normal, irregardless the ecm might see the engine as cold and make the injectors run rich.
is the air cleaner bocked?
hows the hose to the map, not cracked, broken, split, blocked?

howed you go with the other map?
did you try it or were you asking if they were the same? if it pluges in it shoud be right. i know my vr has one big plug with about 4 wires, i will double check in the morning

cheers to every1 who has tryed to help me, i have fixed the problem turns out the gas carby was blocked, starving engine for air, has not missed or lost gears once, and goes way better then it ever did
