car wont start im about 100% positive its the key that has stuffed up i have had problems with it i have a after market alarm would getting holden to recut a new key work to start my car or wouldnt it make a difference
Does the engine wind over at all?Or is there nothing happening when the ignition key is turned to the start position?
nothing happens at all my after market alarm / immobiliser diactivates alllows the dash to light up to be able to start the car but nothing happens
It does sound like a problem with the keyhead.Maybe a flat battery inside it.You might have to just try a new keyhead,a new one will need programming by holden if the old one doesnt work any more. You can try leaving the ignition key on (reds lit up on the dash)for 45 minutes for a series 1 VS,or 120 minutes for a series 2 VS.This will bypass the original immobiliser that the ignition key uses,so if after waiting the time, the car then starts, you know it is the ignition key.
quest: how much has the original ignition and or key been modified to addapt to the after market immobiliser.
i reckon i have seen them all. but let me know.
1: is the key touching the terminals
2: try disconnecting the after market immob. and then resetting standard VS security by disconnecting the batt. may or may not work.
3: battery could just be just DEAD in the paddle pop.

any competent locksmith can replace your paddle pop.
@ a better price than holden for sure...

If the key button unlocks the door then it is probably alright, is it auto? Try checking the neutral safety switch.
dead key towed to suttons $180 later problem fixed pricey but working
