Hey guys, in the mornings or when my car hasnt been driven in a while it struggles to start sometimes im holding the key for like 20seconds before it finally turns on, is there anything i can change to stop this.
Surely not everyone has to wait half a minute for their VS to turn on.
Cheers.
Try replacing your starter motor? Try your alternator? Try your battery?
leaking injector maybe..? hows the oil in the sump look and smell?
If its cranking over fine and as it should be, not slow and struggling to turn the crank over then your starter will be fine, so will the alternator and battery
If its just taking a while to fire i would be looking at your ignition system or fuel system.
What exactly do you mean by "turn on'? Not cranking or engine cranking but not firing?
If it takes a short time to engage the starter motor, try tightening the nut that holds the main battery cable to the starter motor solenoid. (disconnect battery first) Common problem.
The more information your can provide on a problem, the more accurate the answers will be.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
If, as mentioned above, the problem is a firing issue, it could be the injectors (as mentioned previously).
A simple way to help/check is to turn the key to accessory then back again to off a few times before actually starting the car. Always makes the start better on mine.
It is a Dual Fuel car, so it thought that might be a problem, ive got a brand new alternator and battery, it just really struggles to fire so ill turn the key and it will just be trying to fire but doesnt straight away, sometimes it will take like 40seconds, depending on the weather.
Also, when it rains, my driver side door doesnt open.... anyone else had this problem? sunny days its fine, but if it starts to rain i know i gotta run to my passenger side door, it doesnt open from the inside or outside...
