Hi all
I have noticed when i am driving my steering feels a bit flighty , eg if there is
a join in the road the wheels follow it in stead of tracking straight . I,ve had a good
look under the car but nothing looks out of place , has anyone experienced the same problem ?
Cheers.
Yeah thanks Bandit
I,m still on stock suspension and have replaced swaybar bushes and links last weekend with nolathane .
And like you say i better check the other bushes as well . Thanks
I have had this same problem twice and both times it was tyres. This is after spending xxxxloads of money on bushes etc so before handing over your hard earned see if you can boorow some wheels off a mate and at least exclude this potential problem.
Mate thanks for that , anything is worth a try , i,ll keep you posted.
Put a new set of mid-range tyres on mine this week. Fixed the same problem straight up
Hi Smokey
What do you mean by mid range tyres ? i have 225/50/16 Komets on 50% worn i think they are Eat arse tyres crap in other words
when i get a chance i,ll put some new ones on . Cheers
Muzz,
Just middle price-range tyres, (assuming and hoping this means middle range quality too.) I don't know too much about brands and whatnot, but got some Pirelli's on there which weren't the best quality, or the lowest. Made a huge difference

Thanks Smokey, take it easy .
I have the same ute mate and i have the exact same problem.. i thought may be just time for a wheel alignment. however im doing my whole suspension soon and changing wheels so hopefully this fixes it!
Hillzzy let me know how you get on , i had wheel balance / alignment still does it i will try tyres next , have a read of smokeys tread.
Good luck.
Cheers for that old mate , i have had alignment no difference at all to steering .
yeh i just changed my wheels from 18's with low profiles to interceptors with lots of rubber.. fixed all the flighty movement!
the ride is so much better with bigger rubber... however bigger rims do look better than stockies lol
Hillzzy
i,m glad you have your problem fixed . Safe motoring.
