Need some advice on cam upgrade please.

Hey everyone I have had my vs slr5000 5 litre for the last month! i finally got my machanic to go over it to check if all is good and he tells me it has a small cam upgrade in it!! he said its not a huge cam, he thinks its probably just the next up from the standard 5 litre cam, any way i was just wondering what it would cost for me to upgade to a bigger cam, im not after anything to big just somthing to give me a litle more punch, would it be cheaper for me because it already has a small cam in it?? i dont no much on this toppic so just after as much info for prices and for what cam to step up to, i also did a search but could not find what would relate to me, thanks for your time tom

if it already has a cam then i would tend to lean the way of doing higher ratio rockers to get a bit more lift. and they are usually cheaper then a cam.
No it wont be cheaper because you have an after market cam either. the same amount of work has to be done regaurdless of what cam you have in there.
