Default vr 5l ute fuel pump shagged ?

    hi guys,

am after some info on fuel pumps,

recently my check engine light was coming on and car started running rough then it would go away. i have recently replaced the dizzy coil pack and dfi module all new it ran fine for a couple of weeks.

now the check engine light is comin on and off i got home the other night after the check engine light came on breifly while driving i turned the car off. came out in the morning to the car sputtering and idling like it had a massive cam then it would nearly cut out. i then tried to start it again and it kept back firing when i would try and rev it i checked all the timing but it kept doing it. anyway i left it for a couple of hours came back and it wouldnt start its kicking over but not firing up i located a cracked spark plug lead at cylinder 1 so i changed all the plug leads with new ones however it still will not fired up i have checked there is spark going to all the plugs so im guessing it may be a fuel related problem ?? blocked fuel filter?? shagged fuel pump? fuel reg??

any feedback would be much appreciated thanks

check your error codes to see what fault code is logged

you dont need a scan tool to display your fault codes, you just need a paper clip or a small bit of wire to put it in to diagnostic mode, then your fault codes will flash up on the dash.

i would say it sounds like the hall effect sensor, but if you have already replaced the dizzy with a new one maybe its not.. unless you replaced it with one of them cheap $70 shitty one of ebay??

faulty fuel pump wont throw the light on the dash or give you a code. if the scanners wont talk to the ecm, maybe thats the issue

yeah i just put a cheapie in it this time i put a bosh one in it last time and it f..kd out aswell yeah ill try this paper clip test thing when i get it towed into work lol im thinking it might just be the timing out as ive had to play around with the timing abit in the past i put a new set of leads in it today but the number one spark plug lead melted a hole through it so had to go buy another lead. its weird cause i used to get a fuel smell when trying to crank it over now there is nothing ill check for injector pulse aswell when i can get hold of a noid light at work ahhh so frustrating lol thanks for the info guys..

okay correction i think i was testing the wrong plug there are 2 plugs around the fuel tanks one is a white plug male to female with a purple and black wire neither of those were getting power when accessories were on or when cranking ther other plug going directly into the fuel pump with a orangey colour wire and a black wire this plug was receiving power when turning accessories on and when cranking am i testing the right plug ?
