    Default weird start problem

    my vr v6 has developed a strainge problem that i cant nut out a few weeks ago it started shutting down then not restarting (no spark) if i swapped the coil pack it would fire up and run for a few days then do the same thing then last night it wouldnt start i fitted new crank angle sensor no go. swapped coil pack no go. swapped computer it fired up left for a few hours then wouldnt start unplugged computer for 5 secs it started first go any ideas im stumped

    It sounds like a bad connection in the wiring somewhere,either in the main wiring loom or main engine wiring harness.Go through the wiring connectors and check for corroded pins etc.Especially check the DFI module wiring connector.

    DFI (Direct Fire Injection) module under the 3 ignition coils on the engine.The coils sit on top of the DFI module and connect to it.

    oh righto i get it now. ill have i sticky at it but ive fitted 3 complete coil pack/dfi modules so far today and pinched 1 of them off the wifes car that runs fine although i did notice a difference in the number if pins on 1 of them?

    Theres only one DFI module,the 3 ignition coils are seperate and sit on top of the DFI module.

    yep sorry i mean thats what i chainged 3 separate units the whole thing not the individual coils 3 10mill bolts underneath and 1 7mill bolt in the middle of the connector i havent removed any coils from the bases of the units. ill go thru all the conections on the wiring loom and hopefully turn sumthing up and the pin difference was in the loom vs/vr
