So my vs v6 just started losing alot of power and then this devloped into missing where is became undrivable within 30 mins after the loss in power starting to show. I looked into it for all the obvious things plugs leads coilpacks injctors and these were all fine the only thing noticed was the plugs on the right hand side werent burning right at all they had carbon and shit all over them where as the left side was clean and crisp. i ran the fault diagnostic on it and fault code 76 came up which is differing air/fuel ratio inbetween banks. Which makes sense because the right hand bank was not burning at all like it shoud. i have done a fuel pressure test, replaced oxygen sensors, coilpacks, plugs, tested leads, tried another ecu in the car and cleaned and checked all feul injectors. If anyone has any theroys please let me know as i am almost ready to torch the car! lol cheers Im almost certain that its the fuel injection circuit as it have great soarj at the plugs.
Some VS's had a problem that was to do with the oxygen sensors heater circuit earth interfering with the oxygen sensor signal. And it can cause the error code 76 that you have been getting. The fix is to properly earth the oxygen sensor heater earth wire.Apparently you can try temporarily cutting the pink wire to the oxygen sensor. If the car is better after cutting this wire, the oxy sensor heater circuit needs earthing properly.Theres a few threads on this problem and the fix if you search for them.
Yea but it if was a issue like that dont the oxygen sensors end up guessing and just give u really bad feul mileage instead of disabling the car because the car will idle but soon as u go to rev it what so ever it will cough splutter and backfire.
I dont think it would cause the car to misfire or stall, the oxygen sensors arent really even used by the ECU until the engine is up to operating temp anyway,so if it does it when its cold, you can probably look elsewhere.Ive read the problem can cause the engine to run rich on one bank though, which sets the error code 76 you have got.It was just a thought though,as mentioned above, you have replaced/tested most other things.
Yea i feel like ive done all that seems logical in my head so ive sent it off the the mechanics so hopefully they will sort it otherwise i might try fixing it with a sledge hammer.
the problem has to be fuel related. simply because each coil pack fires one plug on each bank so it's highly unlikely that it's linked to the ignition.
possibly MAF.
ultimately you need to hook the car up to a diagnostic system and see what signal is incorrect. other then that you are replacing items blindly until you stumble up on the correct one.

Yea mate this has all been done it shows no faults on the diagnostic system its got feul pressure the mechanic has had it for 3 days and he has been working on it on and off and he has no idea. He is working on it tomoz all for free just coz its annoying him that he cant find the problem. The motor was about at the end of its life anyways so its coming out over the weekend and new loom and a 2nd hand motor will be going in. wat a headache this has been im over it!!!!
