Yeah I'd stay away from Pedders. They have a habit of saying things need replacing when they probably don't. Not saying don't use Pedders gear, (I have it in my car.) just don't get Pedders to install it.

    lmao...

Does your ute have a front end on it at the moment?

Basically thats the price for a full, complete front end set-up, a lot of that stuff you probly don't "need" but looks like they want to do it anyway.
I'd find a trusted mechanic, or any one for that matter, tell him you want to lower your car, ask how all the rest of the bushes are under there too.

Don't get me wrong, it would feel completely like new, because, well, it is But I think they're going over the top with some of the items.

Does you rack leak/have any movement in it? any wobbles in the steering, noises clunks from the front end? Or is the ute in general, in good working conditon? (hit many gutters etc..)

well if you shake the steering wheen when the car is not running there is a clunking/knocking noise.
hit a bump there a slightly hard knock .

and yeah the car drives fine, does pull slightly to the left thats about it..

im in cairns and Pedders if the only one i really know about, only because i happened tto drive past it lol

hit up GSL rallysport on this site and get a quote on brake pads and suspension kit...then ask a mechanic how much to replace your brake pads and suspension and check your bushes...then compare it to pedders...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

Pedders wanted to charge me $2068 to fix my suspension I took it to Jax and they replaced my front strut towers and radius rod bushes, I also got front and rear adjustable swaybars plus a strut brace all for $1930 that included a free wheel alignment and balance the car feels great nothing else needed fixing from what I can feel. I will never go back to a Pedders store again as to many places seem to be dodgy.

    Pedders....all bull.

All that and they only do a 2 wheel align.........GFO.

At that sort of money I'd be looking at Koni. Better ride and handling IMO.

Yes, nothing to adjust but thrust compensation should be checked. Will also pick up things like a bent axle.

99% of wheel aligns are nothing more than "toe and go".

If it was me, i'd rather spend the cash on a lowered king spring/monroe GT combination as advertised on ebay for around $550-$600 and use around another $1K on genuine nolathane bushings for the complete car. Give you a great ride combination and still have a whack of cash in your wallet if you do it yourself.

    cheers!

When I upgraded the all the nolothane bushes in my vn commodore that i used to own, I was quoted around $900 to get the lot replaced at Supercheap "SCA". I contacted nolathane, and brought everything as one complete kit for under $600 at the time. I'd suggest you do something like that rather than spend on pedders. IMO their springs aren't any better than kings, and the only thing that is better than the monroe GT gas shocks in the pedders sports ryder shocks, only due to them being oil filled as opposed to gas filled. Oil filled have a proven track record for longevity over gas filled shocks. If you wanted to save a packet, you could probably get gabriel ones even cheaper!. This is only a suggestion, not gospel.

    Cheers!

Yeah pedders is shocking, i emailed them asking for a quote on lowering, specifically stating i only care about getting the springs changed. And they still quoted me 1,500 with all this shit i really didnt want.

Took my old VN there for a 14 point safety check only because they were offering a free wheel alignment. Catch was if they found anything wrong they had to fix that first and needless to say the list of repairs was exrtensive and around $2000.00.
Given the car had just got a pink slip that day and they claim the things they lit are only if they will fail soon we had a bit of a discussion and they eventually agreed to do the whel alignment and didn't centre the steering wheel.
Interestingly I had the same check done by a different Pedders when I bought the car about 8 years before that and the same faulty parts were listed then! So much for no bull they just want to change a whoile heap of parts that are perfectly road worthy. Be careful!
