well went to replace water pump on the bargin vs i baught yesterday.
see pics
i thought the spout that has a hose coneccted to was apart of the water pump, clearly its not, i levered the pump to get it out and it snapped ... see pics.
how will i fix this any ideas, or is there a piece snapped off ? all help appreciated. thanks
im comparing pictures from this thread Changing water pump VN/VP/VR and it doesnt look good.
im guessing thats an outlet so however it goes back on its going to have to be water tight and on ****ing good!, but again i dont know much about this stuff so wait for someone that knows exactly what to do!
you might be able to use some high heat quick steal but that will only be a quick fix it could last a week or it could last a year all goes on how good you do it
the thread i posted earlier was for buick 3800 engines aswell ive heard its the same but apparantly from the photos the buicks dont have that part , correct me if im wrong.
yeah it looks todaly different to a vr, i have 2 in the drivway atm,
im fairly sure the spout removes but has snapped still attached to car, anyways i taped remaining out with screw driver just need a replacement part, any 1 got a part number???
if ur havin trouble gettin it off, have u thought aboutcuttin it straight and welding a pipe on it?

yeah thanks 4 that but i got it out with the help of the missus....
my question now is what is that part number for the spout,,,,,,,, it must be a replacable part
Just take the old piece with you.The wreckers is probably the best bet unless you want to get a brand new one.
dude that looks like part of the front engine cover
if it is i think you will have to remove your balancer and everything
yeah it is a hose connects to this spout and runs to the heater tap..

Looks like yours was corroded and snapped off where the pipe joins.
thanks for that Brett_jjj , thats just what i need....... where do i find the part number for the inlet pipe
Any parts store that sells it will be able to find it without the part number. I suspect that it may be genuine only but sometimes I get suprised by what the chain franchises sell.
I would be trying the wrecker option myself => <<<$$ but it depends on how easy that option is for you; if you are out in the sticks somewhere... You should still be able to find a good one without very much corrosion on the sealing surfaces.
You do need the correct size 'O' ring also.
yeah plenty at the wreckers, so i think ill just get a new one prob will come with the required o ring
Im not sure if or where you can find it online.Any car parts place like supercheap or even holden will be able to tell you the part number straight away.Just give em a call.Im pretty sure all the ecotec engines use the same heater inlet pipe..
yeah thansk.... do u know much about lsd diffs, i have one t-ed up to pick up tomoorw, says its a lsd how do i confirm this, both wheels spin same way or oposite
cool thanks
