Hi guys I've now rang holden 4 times to find out what fault code 15 & 31 are and they havent rang me back once. I'm putting a 5 liter with a 5 speed in my car the motor is out of a 95 VS and it has 2 fault codes 15 &31 can any one tell me what these are? thanks

[5 speed VR]

Code 15 - ECT Sensor - Voltage Too High - Auto Transmission Only
Code 31 - Theft Deterrent Signal missing

the code 31 just means the keyhead didnt make contact properly when trying to start the car as for code 15 i dont know

did notice the the temp gauge wasn't working when i test ran the motor so is that what code 15 is. cheers

nah its for the ecu sensor not the gauge on the dash

sorry to sound dumb but by the ecu sensor you mean the one screwed into the block also could u tell me if the 95 VS 5 liter all came out with lsd

theres 2 in the block one for the ecu with 2 wires and a single wire for the dash gauge

arr thanks for that im getting the block rebuild befor i put it in so ill be sure to replace that as well

well they arnt actually in the block but yeah into water on the manifold or the thermo housing
